On 23 September 2015, The European Commission held in Brussels the 5th Meeting of Group 4, Group in charge of Thematic "Innovation in Construction" organized in the framework of the Construction 2020 Strategy.
The Construction 2020 Strategy Plan aims to boost the sector as a driving force in the creation of jobs and growth by: Stimulating favourable investment conditions (Group1), Improving the human-capital basis (Group 2), Improving resource efficiency,environmental performance and business opportunities (Group 3), Strengthening the Internal Market for construction (Group 4), and Fostering the global competitive position of EU construction enterprises (Group 5). Group 4 assesses the overall consistency of a number of EU legal acts imposing obligation in the construction sector. The objective is to identify/ avoid/remove provisions in EU legal acts that create overlaps or obsolete measures. During this meeting, the Commission presented the conclusions and the recommendations of the Elios 2 Project to the representatives of EU members governments as well as various professional organizations in the construction sector. On 12 June 2015, The Architects’Council of Europe (www.ace-cae.eu) addressed to the European Commission a letter supporting EFACI and EQEO.
On 12 May 2015, The Elios 2 team is invited by French Mrs MP Estelle Grelier to submit the results of its study.
On 24 February 2015, The European Union of Developers and House Builders (www.uepc.org) addressed to the European Commission a letter supporting the 2 key recommendations of Elios 2 team.
On 23 January 2015, The European Federation of engineers (www.efcanet.org) received our team to prepare a presentation based on the Elios 2 report that will be given at the next EFCA BoD Meeting on 20 February 2015 in Berlin.
On 13 January 2015, The Elios 2 team was invited by the Architects’ Council of Europe (www.ace-cae.eu) in Stuttgart to present the results of its study and to take part in a debate with the members of its Scope of Services working group on the positive effects of the two recommendations for European Architects.
On 1 December 2014, The Elios 2 team was received in Paris by European Builders Confederation (www.eubuilders.org) to discuss, with the sector of construction companies, the conclusions and the recommendations of its study.
On 1 December 2014, The European Insurance and Reinsurance Federation (www.insuranceeurope.eu) adressed to the European Commission their comments on Elios 2 fnal report.
On 23 October 2014, The Consortium of European Building Control (www.cebc.eu) addressed to the European Commission a letter supporting EQEO, one of the two recommendations of the Elios 2 team.
The Elios 1 recommendations (www.elios-ec.eu/en/construction-insurance-and-sustainability-0 ) were discussed during a meeting with the stakeholders organised jointly by the European Commission and the European Parliament represented by MEP Estelle Grelier on 23 March 2011 to take stock of the work undertaken to date and to discuss the main orientations for the proposed follow-up Pilot Project based on Elios 1 recommendations.
In order to analyse more in greater depth some of the recommendations of the Pilot Project Elios 1, the European Commission launched a second call for tender entitled: “Facilitating access to insurance by self-employed builders and small building firms so as to stimulate innovation and the promotion of eco-technologies in the European Union”.

Throughout the entire project period (2012-2014), the Elios 2 team has assisted the EC in organising a consultation process. The consultation has taken place in particular via the setting up and functioning of 7 Forums.
The final Elios2 forum meeting was held on 12 November 2014.
